“Person” dependent vs Process dependent

As per a new US federal law, airlines operating out of the US now need to display information on tarmac delay / additional fees, etc on the airline’s website. All airlines were given a timeframe to implement this, and Air India failed to implement this, and was fined 80,000 USD for the same.

The explanation given in court – “the employee responsible for updating the website died, and hence we could not implement the changes”

Lucky that the court did not order Air india’s IT department to become CMM/ISO compliant by a particular date!
